Dear Dharma Friends ,

It is our honor to inform you that after a year of careful and thorough processing , the Chinese Buddhist Electronic Text Association (CBETA) is now pleased to announce the latest release of the CBETA Chinese Electronic Tripitaka Collection, containing the digital edition of the Taisho Tripitaka (Volumes 1 through 55 and Volume 85) , and the Shinsan Zokuzokyo (Xuzangjing) (Volumes 1 through 88). Please see our separate mailing for the detailed Sutra Catalogue of t he release of the full digital text of the Zokuzokyo.

The above-mentioned materials along with the newest version of CBReader ISO image file and the Zokuzokyo Volumes 1 through 88 will be released on CD-ROM on March 10th, 2007, the ninth anniversary of CBETA. The web-based versions of these materials will be made available by internet on January first, 2007.

Those who follow the progress of CBETA are likely aware that there are more than thirty versions of the Chinese Buddhist Tripitaka dating from the Song Dynasty. These have served as the textual source for our project to digitize the Chinese Buddhist canon. We are now beginning to input the collected Sutras not included in the Taisho and Zokuzokyo as the CBETA third phase plan.

Please check our website at http://www.cbeta.org for the latest information. As always, thank you for your support of CBETA, and for your valuable comments, which are always appreciated.

Wishing you a peaceful and prosperous year in 2007.

Yours in the Dharma,

Bhikkhu Huimin

Director,
